The Lord Is Our Helper

​

​Psalm 121:1-2    I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills,  from whence cometh my help.  My help cometh from the Lord, which made heaven and earth.

 

These verses remind us of what we somehow keep forgetting—that we do not have to live in fear, because we have a God who keeps us.  The verses also encourage us to put our trust in God, and believe that he is watching over us in all parts of our lives.

Whenever we are in need, our human impulse is to solve our own problems.  We tend to turn to God only after we have exhausted every other resource.  This is a foolish way to live, especially when God has everything we need at his disposal.  And God is ready to provide if only we will ask.  It is greater wisdom to go to God immediately and ask for what God is ready to provide. 

 

Remember, the Lord is our helper and protector, and we can trust in him every day!
